The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) are independent skills-based assessments with a competition element. ICAS is unique, being the most comprehensive generally available suite of academic assessments and schools tests for primary and secondary school students. The assessments comprise of tests in Digital Technologies, English, Maths, Science, Spelling and English.
A new ICAS test is developed annually for each subject in each year level by a team of subject matter experts. All ICAS tests are reviewed by experienced teachers to ensure that they accurately assess student’s skills and are relevant to what they are learning at school. Each test is sat at school and is administered under normal examination conditions.
Approximately seven weeks after student’s responses are sent for processing, your child’s report is posted to school. Each comprehensive school report comprises of your child’s achievement levels, responses to questions, and their certificate of achievement. The student’s test booklet is also returned.
Over one million student entries are accepted from over 6,300 schools in Australia and New Zealand annually. In addition, students from over 20 countries including Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and the USA participate each year.
If you would like your child to participate in the ICAS tests this year, download and print the link below and return to the school office by Friday, the 1st of April. If you have any questions, please contact Jason Irvine at firstname.lastname@example.org
