Enrolment Scheme & Zoning Information

📍 Proof of address is required for in-zone enrolments.
In-Zone Enrolments
Each year, the school will advertise a deadline for in-zone enrolments for the following year, published in a local newspaper. This helps the Board determine how many out-of-zone places may be offered.
Special Programmes
Wainui School does not run any Special Programmes approved by the Secretary, so this priority category does not apply.
Out-of-Zone Enrolments
Each year, the Board of Trustees determines how many out-of-zone places can be offered. This information will be advertised locally, including how and when to apply.
In 2024, the Board approved 40 out-of-zone places.
The ballot for these applications was held on 23rd October 2024.
The Board will review out-of-zone placements again in Term 1, 2025.
Priority for Out-of-Zone Applications
If we receive more out-of-zone applications than there are places available, they will be processed in the following order:
-
Not applicable – No special programmes at Wainui School
-
Siblings of current students
-
Siblings of former students
-
Children of former students
-
Children of current staff or Board members
-
All other applicants
If more applications are received within any priority category than spaces available, a ballot will be held in accordance with Ministry guidelines. Parents will be notified of ballot dates through public notices.
📄 Proof of sibling relationships may be required for second or third priority applications.
